Yesterday was a hard day.

DSC_0430I attempted to get pictures of a two month old little puppy – and failed.  Big time.

DSC_0435But not only did I fail at taking his pictures – when they came back in to say good bye, Yoshi wasted no time in snapping at the pup.

DSC_0450Right infront of the puppies owner.  The puppy let out a horrible yelp and Yoshi growled the rest of the time.

DSC_0437This just a day after she snapped at her best friend – infront of her owner too.

DSC_0451After the puppy and his owner left I got online to research “aggressive dogs” and pretty much found out that everything I do with Yoshi – is wrong.  I have always held firm to the belief that she is “Just a dog.”  And while that is true – she is “Just a dog” she is a dog.  And dogs need training.

DSC_0472Which pretty much meant that the entire day was a complete failure.  And Yoshi was going to have to be put down because of all these mistakes.  No, she doesnt have to be put down – I just resolved myself to thinking that.

DSC_0476Dog needs some help, some training, and she needs it fast.  I started last night – by not allowing her on the couch during dinner.  She was so upset.

DSC_0477She wouldnt go to bed with me, and instead ignored me.

DSC_0528Today tho, we made up.

DSC_0506One of the things I read was that dogs get aggressive when they dont have enough exercise.  So today, when she started getting upset with Siren, I took them out to play ball.  Something they both enjoyed.

Heres to a better, hopefully friendlier, week.

Ive always considered myself to be more of a cat lover, than a dog lover.  I mean I love dogs.  But my buddy is my 21 year old cat who I have had since he was a kitten.  Its just how its always been.

DSC_0194But lately, I see that changing.

DSC_0213

Yoshi has the personality of a hundred cats.  And the attitude to go with them all.  When she was a puppy – she was just that.  Another cute puppy.

DSC_0192

She was going to be 100% crate trained.  She would forever and always sleep in her crate – and enjoy it.  But then one night I was alone at home, and a little bit lonely – and the puppy cries from the crate were enough to convince me that “Just for the night” she could sleep with me.

Now, every night when its time for bed, she races me up the stairs and jumps into my bed.  My bed, which is higher than the normal bed and requires some effort (from both of us) to get in.  She has miscalculated her jump more than once and ended up sprawled on the floor.  Ive kicked her out more than once, but always.  She comes back.

They say your dog looks like you.  Or you look like your dog.  And aside from the blonde hair – I guess you could say thats true.  Shes short, a little on the chubby side, and apprehensive about new things.  She loves candy, and becomes possessive of things she likes.

DSC_0160

Shes stubborn, so very stubborn.  But some reason, I find myself falling for her.  Something I never thought I would say before.

My Yoshi girl.

I’m anything but perfect, and my pictures mimic this. I’m a wanna be photographer, but being unable to grasp anything other than point and shoot, my pictures aren’t anything but random snap shots of something I thought looked cool. If its any good, its sheer luck and nothing on my part. Capturing sunsets, or sunrises, or anything of the such, are nothing but streaks of blurry color in the sky – leaving me frustrated.

But there are some pictures I take, and don’t share, because, well, they don’t stand UP to my standards, and even though I might think they are nice, they aren’t cut out to share, let alone, be a picture. But some of my favorites are the ones that aren’t so perfect, and aren’t such great quality. Some of my favorites are the ones that are a little off, lopsided, and random snaps… And so I’m posting them.

Even though they are Imperfect.

Like me.

Barcelona Spain; Magic Fountain:

These two pictures make me happy every time I see them, and I dont know why. I cut the top of the fountain off, but they just give me happy chills seeing them.

“WHY a snail??” Because. I thought he was cute!!

Thats why.

Imperfect pictures. But perfect moments. Captured.

1. Monday – We seemed to carry out the snow theme again this week.  It took me 38 attempts to get this picture.

17

2. Tuesday – This was taken in full color, not black and white.  It was a very….bleak sort of day.

18

3. Wednesday – Yoshi was supposed to start some obedience classes this week.  But it didnt happen, and I am still chasing my tail trying to track down someone willing to take her on.  Puns intended.

19

4. Thursday – Yoshi says “Meh, who needs obedience school?”  She is full of personality, shes just picky on who gets to see it.

20

5. Friday – I guess it was a Yoshi centered week as far as pictures went.  Her and I went for a walk and checked out every snow bank there was.

21

6. Saturday – Cold, but pretty.  But cold.  I dont know why, I some reason found the definition of “Icicle” funny: a hanging rod of ice: a hanging tapered rod of ice.

22

7. Sunday – Spring is coming.  It has to be coming.  Never mind the fact that I was standing on two inches of frozen solid snow.  There are BUDS in those trees.  And Spring IS coming.

Yoshi and I went for a walk today.  Walks are her favorite part of the day.  You would think she never gets out the way she goes on and on about them.  I read or heard somewhere that a walk to a dog is like a trip to the carnival for a person.  I kind of think that might be true, atleast for Yoshi.

DSC_0046

She always has to inspect the piles of snow.  I thinks its all those smells rolled up into one big pile that gets her.  Because she stops and will not listen (not that she usually does) but all bets are off.  Usually she pulls me about 1/2 way into the snow bank before her collar comes off.  And Im left standing knee deep in snow, yelling for a (seemingly) deaf dog to come back.

DSC_0055

Usually a few minutes later she realizes what happened, and slowly makes her way back.  Because shes a good girl like that.  And I cant stay mad at her for long.  After all, she was just doing what dogs do – and why didnt I want to smell the smells with her?

DSC_0043

This picture didnt turn out the way I was hoping – too many power lines, trees, etc – but the snow covered mountains are, well, pretty.

Happy Friday!
