1. Monday we were supposed to get a few feet worth of snow.  I was holding out hope that we wouldnt, infact, be buried.
1

2. Tuesday – We didnt get snow, we got ice.  And after a month of spring like weather, it wasn’t welcomed with open arms .  Thankfully my new hat arrived just in time.  Yoshi, however, thought she liked it too.

2

3. Wednesday – We got our 12 inches.  While the town rarely shuts down for snow, all after school activities, as well as programs were canceled all week.

3

4. Thursday – More snow.  More white.  More stuff everywhere.

4

5. Friday – Happy Valentines day!  I was tired of snow, and snow pictures, and everything white everywhere.  So turned my attention to these beauties.

55

6. Saturday – The snow finally started to melt, we lost about 10 inches of it seemingly overnight.  The only thing was – it had turned to rain.  Which made for about 12 inches of slush.  Everything was wet, muddy, soggy and I was in a foul mood about it all.  Hard to please me in the winter.

6

7. Sunday – We woke to a new layer of snow.  Deceiving, however.  Because under that snow?  Was about 2 inches of water.  Ahhh…Yoshi desperately NEEDED to run off some energy.  The deep snow has made it hard for her to run, so today I let her go.

7And that hopefully concludes the snow.  I dont know about anyone else – but Im ready for spring to come back!

I wait all year for these flowers to bloom.  All.  Year.

DSC_0798

It usually blooms in December.  It didnt bloom this last December.  I sort of panicked.  I love these blooms.  So much.  And it didnt bloom.  I washed the leaves, watered it good, and still.  Nothing.

DSC_0806

So then I left it alone.  And forgot about it.  Until one day….tiny buds began to appear.  “Nahh” I said to myself “They are just leaves.  Its past December.  Those arent flowers.”

DSC_0814

But they were.  They were blooming late.  Or early.  Or maybe they were just waiting for it to snow.  Or for Valentines day.  Who knows.

DSC_0820

Either way.  The flowers had bloomed.  Have bloomed.  Are still blooming.

DSC_0827And I did my duty – and snapped pictures.  Of their lovely blooms.

DSC_0829Until next year tomorrow.

When Yoshi was a pup, I had fun doing “Hello, Im Yoshi!” posts.  But as she got bigger, and less puppy like, I stopped.  In honor of her third birthday (February 28) – I decided to do a Yoshi themed post.  Although, Yoshi has pretty much taken over the blog lately.

yos-007
I was looking back over the Yoshi themed posts, and saw all the pictures of her in her cute puppy stages…but I also saw someone else.  Our big old dog, Slim.  Slim was such a good, good dog.  She had her moments – such as running away, but over all – Slim was a great dog.  In her old age she over came her fear of people and turned into a real sweet thing.  Looking over the pictures I wonder if Yoshi misses her too.  Im sure she does – those two were good pals.

Anyways – Back to Yoshi.

Yoshi Likes:

  • Snow
  • Food
  • Treats
  • Playing
  • Being in Charge
  • Playing with her puppy pals

Yoshi Hates:

  • Listening
  • People (well she doesn’t HATE them, shes just scared of most of them)
  • Not being in charge
  • Not being outside
  • Being told no
  • 22 by Taylor Swift (and yes, I am serious.)

DSC_0691Even though she grew up, she will still be our little Yoshi.

And even though I have written more Yoshi related posts, this has still got to be one of my all time favorites: Sheep in the bed.

It snowed last night.

DSC_0699Whenever it snows, Yoshi pretty much demands to go out and play in it.  She whines, and cries, and carries on until someone gives into her desperate pleas and takes her out to play in the snow.

DSC_0663

Despite my warning for her to “Stop” she went up over the bank, and disappeared.

DSC_0664

Coming back up the other side wasnt as easy as she had planned.  It didnt help that I was laughing at her.  But dont worry – I did lend her a hand, and she survived.

DSC_0741

She decided to evaluate the situation at hand before jumping right in again.  While she did that, I took some other pictures of, well, snow!

DSC_0682

Because thats what you do where there is snow, right?  You take pictures.

DSC_0693

And file them away for a sunny day.

DSC_0704

People say snow is pretty.  I guess I can sort of see what they mean by that.

DSC_0734

But I think its the sun that makes the snow pretty.

DSC_0760

So basically – I still think sun is prettier than snow.  Just sayin’.

DSC_0738

Sun makes Yoshi look pretty too…

DSC_0749

Then again, Yoshi looks pretty without the sun too.  So maybe it is the snow.

DSC_0752

Either way.

DSC_0769

Flowers are always pretty.

A few short days ago, we had blue skies, and Spring like weather.

DSC_0637

Today we have a good 2 inches of snow, and more coming.

DSC_0638

Yoshi, being the little snow lover that she is – insisted we go out to play in it.

DSC_0639

I obliged, and we spent a few minutes ‘playing’ in the snow.  Meaning she mostly ran, and dug through the piles of snow.

DSC_0642

When she was done (or as done as she could be – shes NEVER done playing in the snow) I made her model my new hat.

DSC_0646She has good tastes, because she likes it as much as I do.  And she wears it well too.
