This weeks “I heart faces” theme is “Vroom Vroom” with 9-11 fresh on our minds I thought we could dedicate a moment in time to the Firemen and rescue personnel that helped in 911 tragedy nine years ago.

“A hero is someone who understands the responsibility that comes with his freedom.”

{Day 1}

One thing I lack is motivation.  If someone isnt there pushing me to get something done, chances are it will be put aside until I eventually remember to do it, and by then, its usually too late.  Bad.  I know.  I have a hard time with long term commitment, I start out right, but after the excitement and thrill wears off, I loose focus and dont make it much further.

Such as project 365.  I didnt make it but two weeks in, and gave up.  A simple task, such as picking up my camera and taking a single photo everyday was proving daunting.  And I gave up.  So when I agreed to write one post.  Every day of September, something in the bottom of my heart said “You arent gong to finish” but I am determine.  To write.  Atleast one word.  Every darn day of September.

Hold me to it.  Seriously.

Even if its one word.  Im going to write that one word.  Every day.

I also realized that in order to help me reach this goal, I would need help…and provided little intensives for myself (haha Im great).  September is shaping up to be a busy month.  Maybe.  Maybe not.  Sort of thing.  But one thing we are doing, is redoing a good portion of our house.

A house that was originally built in the 50’s and updated somewhere in the 60’s, has been neglected for a while.  While were trying to keep the old fashion look, were also going for the not so neglected look.  As a result, we decided to take down some of the old paneling, and put up sheet rock.  We also are doing the floors in a few rooms – and counter tops in the kitchen.

Believe me, it needs done.

So on Wednesday, as mostly just incentive to me to take pictures and write words – I thought I would add this little thing to my blog…and call it Renovation Wednesday.

On Wednesday, Im going to try and put an update on our project (s).

So for week one, the First day of September…I will give a brief overview of where were currently stand:

There used to be a light pink panel on three walls, with wood panel on the other.

Currently it looks like this:

Eventually, the far wall (without drywall as of yet) will be a gray.

The bathroom, which is slightly embarrassing, Im not sure why, is currently gutted.

We were going to go with just the drywall in there – but after thinking about it, we decided to rip up the yellow flooring.  Note the, once again, pink “Tile” on the wall.  This covered a majority of the walls.  Seriously, was pink on sale in the 50’s/60’s?

Eventually the plan is to have black flooring, mostly white walls and an awesome blue counter top that started the whole ordeal.  We are planning to also do counter tops and dry wall in the kitchen as well…when I say we I mostly mean my dad, while we all attempt and get in the way help when we can.

It will be mostly done on weekends and night, due to the business.  But it will get done!  Or will it?

I think I may have overused the words “Currently” and “Eventually.”

What are YOU renovating in your house or life this week?  Any big plans for now or the future?

I asked my sister to pick this weeks happiness picture – but she was only giving me pictures of.  And something that Im not sure what was.  So then I turned the tables on her, and decided I would write something about her…but I couldnt find the words tonight.

Below is something she wrote a few weeks ago about her and I, She writes so beautifully – I hope enjoy it as much as I did and still do.

My sister and I balance each other out perfectly,
I am sympathetic, she is realistic, I am a dreamer, she is a logical and makes things happen,
I find things, she packs,
I shop, she carries the bags,
I say something funny, she says something funny back,
I think of ideas, she tells me how I can (or cant!) reach them 🙂
We don’t agree on some things, but it works out better that way
I love popcorn jelly beans, and she likes tuti fruity, we both agree that jelly beans are good, and no need to fight over the flavors
She wakes up most night yelling that there are spiders in the room, I wake up most nights yelling at her to stop!
She is a photographer, I am the one who yells “get a picture of this, get a picture of that!”
She possesses an understanding of the world that is far deeper than anything I can create in my romanticized idealistic mind
I am a bit of a romantic, she doesn’t want a knight in armor, no retard in tin foil can ever capture her rapturous heart
I swear if we weren’t related, became opposite genders, and were somehow married, we’d be one of those perfect couples, LOL!!!
We never hug!! But don’t have to, or even want to somehow words even unspoken ones, are better then any hug
We can feel from any distance when the other is upset
We don’t live for each other,
but somehow through each other
and despite each other too!
A love hate, good bad, light dark, relationship, or lack-thereof
live, let live -or kill if need be
I do my own thing, she does hers, but we’re together all the time
Each assuming one role, then switching just as randomly,
its a living breathing
pseudo something, yet totally based on reality
we fight we laugh
we look at something, and see opposite sides -but always the same thing

I want to run away, she will try to stop me, and if that fails, come with me
I am a lonely, sobbing, pathetic mess, she sighs and says ONE thing that totally snaps me out of it
I reach for the stars, she reminds me that there are plenty right in our own backyard
We have an invisible pact, it became real somehow the first time I realized she was my sister, my friend, because though I don’t remember that day, I realize that only means it’s been real for nothing short of eternity….and though it’s unspoken with words, it’s more real then any paper contract,
That is
Written with our minds, full of “what if’s” but concrete in its reality, and it is signed with nothing less then sincerity
“If you were to….”
“Then I would.…”
“I promise”

-Me an You!

Happiness is having a sister as a best friend.

Ok, so I thought it would be fun to do this, and considering I had some time this afternoon, I thought I would follow through.

Getting to know YOU

1. If you accidentally knick a car in a parking lot..Do you leave a note or do you get the heck out of there? I dont drive – so I couldnt rightfully say.  I would like to say I would leave a note – but I think it would just depend.  I would probably leave, and then spend the rest of my life looking for the person.

2. Love your body or plastic surgery? Ahhh…I dont love my body.  But dont like the thought of surgery either.  (In short, I dont love it enough to have surgery on it!!)

3. What about your favorite blog(s) continues to drive you back? I couldnt rightfully say.  I love a collection of different blogs.  Mostly Id have to say, real life, honest, down to earth, crazy kind of people who say it like it is.  The kind who you’d want to hang out with on a Saturday night.  Not the best people in the world – just the fun ones.  You know the kind.

4. What percent of your blog is BS just to make your life seem more interesting than it really is? None.  I love to exaggerate, and tell stories…but when it comes to real life, mostly everything that happens is dramatic enough.

5. If you had to give up one type of meat for the rest of your life, what would it be? Probably pork.  Just not bacon.

6. How often to you eat out? More than I care to admit.  It varies.  Sometimes not very often.  Sometimes a lot.

7. Skinny jeans or boot cut jeans? Boot cut.

8. If you caught your spouse cheating would you forgive, divorce, or plan your kill?  And this question just boils my blood.  I think if anyone catches ANYONE cheating, that divorce should be in the line ups.  Of course, Im not married, so I couldnt honestly say.  But I think that if I were to ever be married, and caught him cheating, he would be a few shades of blue and black and be in need of some serious help if he ever wanted to get back.  Just sayin.

We spent a lot of time this week (or past week I guess) outside trying to paint a little before the summer ends.  I didnt get a lot of time with my camera, because like I said before paint  + cameras dont mix.

Up there?

Dad also started tearing down the old paneling in our dining room and replacing it with sheet rock / drywall whatever the technical term is…I dont know!  Anyway, when he had it all torn up, Tomcat would sit there and stare up.  I dont know WHAT he was looking at, but it must have been interesting.

He doesnt appreciate the house being all torn up, poor kitty.

I had to include this one from our “Fashion shoot” because even when shes goofy…shes still pretty 🙂  The sweater on the other hand, is up for debate!!

Being goofy together (yes I took this one, thus the triple chin look Ive got going!!)

And this one is more for my sister than anyone.  It has a story, that is most likely only funny to us, and would end with “The end” and crickets.  So I wont bore you, but Amanda this is for you.  Your welcome.

What have YOU been up to this week? Anything goofy, crazy or a little bit nuts?
