Originally I was going to go with pictures all like this one:

But you can only take so many “Tree” shots before you begin to REALLY feel small(er).  So then I thought daisy’s – and pictured laying under the daisy’s snapping away happily…except it rained.  All week.  And laying in the mud wasnt something I REALLY wanted to do.  So this was all that idea got:

These were too pretty not to get down on their level with…but the dog was anxious to go for her walk and didnt seem to sympathize with me.  So they didnt turn out like I had hoped:

I have only words of disgust for this one.  I didnt like the reflection in the berry – even though I wasnt using the flash, it still looked like I was:

And then I saw these clovers and thought it would be a great picture to get as low as I could and get the underside of them.  Except Nik didnt fancy laying in the mud and refused to take a picture…this was his take on it:

After a dozen or so of shots like that, and a few more words that were exchanged between the camera and I, I got down on my knees in the mud and pouring rain and gave it my best shot.  Im sure the neighbors all were wondering just WHAT I was doing kneeling in the mud upside down hugging the dog (because what else would she think I was doing except to hug her) and came up with this:

…and then stood up, thankful for my legs that keep me above ground level.  Most times, atleast.

Being a dog, and getting what you REALLY want.

I dont know what it is about boys (both human and animal) that attracts them to tow trucks.  Every year since he has been coming here, Jake (pictured above) has been loving him some rides in the tow truck.  This afternoon he was outside, the door to the tow truck was open, and the rest is history.

This must be what is meant by being dog tired happy!

  • 1 pound hamburger
  • 1-2 cup ketchup, (depending on how saucy you like it)
  • 1/2 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 carrots
  • 1 onion
  • 1/2 a bunch spinach (optional)
  • 6-8 hamburger buns

This is probably by far, one of the easiest recipes I have made.  And is a favorite.

Simply brown hamburger with diced onion and carrots.  Add ketchup and Worcestershire sauce.  Add spinach 2 minutes before serving.

Serve over open hamburger bun.

Serves 6-8

  • 1 pound hamburger
  • 1-2 carrots
  • 1 onion
  • 1 can green chiles, drained (optional)
  • 1 1/4 cup milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 3/4 cup bisquick
  • 1 cup cheese
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon oregano

Dice onion and carrots into small pieces.  Brown hamburger together with carrots and onions.  Add seasonings and green chiles.

In separate bowl combine milk, eggs, and bisquick (tip: To make your own bisquick follow this quick and easy recipe.)

Pour hamburger mixture into pie pan, cover with bisquick mix.

Bake at 350 for 30 minutes, or until knife comes out clean.  Top with cheese.  Serve with salsa, sour cream and salad.
