Now that Christmas is officially over, its time to start panicking preparing for the next upcoming event…Amandas wedding.

But first, a little Christmas blurb/funny.

After exchanging the first round of presents, Amanda and I opened each others.  Upon first glace, I squealed.  The “Creative aperture kit”.  But after looking a little deeper I realized that it was for a special lens and a previous conversation flooded back to me.  The one where I showed Amanda the website, Lensbaby.  The one where together we drooled over the different lenses and gulped at the prices.  “Well…” she said “It was the cheapest thing on there!” and I had to agree.  Atleast she hadn’t spent $200 on a lens I really didn’t know what to do with.  Hey.  Maybe I could trace the shapes and make them work!  I was still excited about them.

A few presents later, and she handed me the final one from her.  And inside…was a new lensbaby lens!!!!!!

The composer, to be exact.
She apparently found one on Ebay for ½ the price.  Color me impressed and SO HAPPY!!!!!

The only problem I have discovered is that with Nikon – this lens only works in the “Manual” mode, a mode that quite honestly scares me and I havent even ventured into.  Having read that it is infact, the most difficult mode to work with.

However, this new lens has inspired me.

I WANT to work it.  I want to use it.  Im GOING to learn it!!!

Plus the little bookeh shape makers, help a little too.  They are SO VERY AWESOME!

I still cant get the heart to work (what is it about that??) but the star works so cool like!

I only have a hundred and one things running around in my mind now, ½ of which are camera related.

Anyone else ever worked with this?  Any advice??  We (nik and I) are open!

Too fun!!

While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.

And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night.  An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified.  But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”

Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,

“Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”

– Luke 2:6-14

Just got back from the vets with little buddy.

At first – the doctor scared us saying that he thought he was most likely in kidney failure.  He sent us out to wait for blood work.

He said 15 minutes.  About 45 minutes later he returned and said that there was “Good news” that all of his levels appeared to be fine.  Some were a little higher than they should be, but nothing to cause concern.  He also said that he was really dehydrated, and wanted to hook him up to fluids.  Since they closed early today he got about an hour of fluids before we picked him up.

They said that most likey?

He just got pissed off, and stopped eating.  And once cats get out of the habbit, they dont get back in themselves.

Sooo…

Mr kitty is back home, looking more alert, but still kind of tipsy.  Hes home, and all of the test came back clean and good.  Hes not even diabetic 🙂

He said to keep an eye on him, and if he isnt eating better by Monday to bring him back and they will do x-rays to make sure he didnt eat something he shouldnt have.

But for now, hes home, marching around with his “Cast” on from his IV…and sporting two bald spots (thick fur :))

Silly cat, just got pissed off 🙂

Hopefully he will be back to himself soon…

Merry Christmas everyone!

The past day and 1/2 my cat hasnt been feeling well.  The whole “Weak” and lethargic thing that has been going on.  He wont eat, and only drinks very little.  Last night he attempted to empty his stomach, but having not eaten…well…there wasnt anything TO empty.  We thought maybe he just wasnt happy with his food, so I bought him a few new favorites, and some canned food (he never has been one to resist canned food!) but he turned his head, and didnt want anything to do with it.  His favorites werent doing the trick

This morning he didnt appear to be any better.  So we called and made an appointment to take him to the vets.  His worse favorite place of all times, and yet I dared to take him there the day before Christmas Eve, I know.  About 30 minutes later, we went home to scoop him up – and he was no where to be seen.

Just gone.

Weve looked everywhere, and he wont come out.  And we missed the last opportunity to bring him in today.  The last appointment was for at 11, and then they were booked for the day – its 10:45 and he is no where to be seen, still.

He loves Christmas, loves everything about it, I just hope hes feeling well enough to enjoy it this year.  And that he comes out too.  I miss seeing him already!

“I see that present, and it might just be for me!!”

I was just messing around with some of the pictures I took the other day, and kind of liked how this one turned out.

I dont know, I thought it was kind of cute.

As a side note, I am so NOT ready for Christmas, is it just me, or does the end of the year seem so LONG away, but the first of the year seems so close?  That doesnt even make much sense!

Amandas wedding is coming up quick, and as a result I have been TRYING to apply myself to all things photography, but that isnt going so good.  Right now Im just drooling over photo sites, wishing I could do those techniques, and such.  Thankfully, someone we know, who I wrote about here, who is also into photography, will be hanging out with her camera too!  But still, the pressure!

Last night my kitty was acting weird.  I was worried at first that he might have gotten poisoned somehow.  He just felt really…weak.  And limp.  And he wouldnt purr.  His little nose was cold too.  I warmed him up, and this morning he was sitting in the heater room – right where the heat blows from the furnace.  He still wouldnt purr, and didnt look real happy.  So Im hoping he was/is just cold.  Poor thing.
