When we first started plotting this road trip through California, a stop in Disneyland was a stop on the list.

With it being summer -we figured it would be busy, so we decided to secure a fast-pass to better our chances of getting on any of the rides.

It was a bit confusing at first, but after downloading the Disneyland app -we realized it was easier than we thought. With the app, you can select a time frame for specific rides -then while waiting you can visit other rides and come back and hop in the fast-pass lane and skip a majority of the waiting time. You don’t have NO waiting, but your waiting time is limited and you can get on more rides. We used the fast-pass for the rides that had an hour plus waiting.

You also get access to any photos taken in the park -such as the ride photos or photos with the characters. The last time we were there (ten years ago) we got our pictures with pooh -only because there was no line and we thought you might have to pay. This time, we got our pictures with Pooh, Tiger AND Eyore as well as Donald duck and Mickey.

The one thing that impressed me the most about the whole Disneyland experience, was the staff. They went out of their way to ensure your time there was the best possible. We had a few hiccups along the way -and each time, the staff went above and beyond to help ensure our experience was a good one.

We bough Mickey ears for the kids -then wore them the whole time. To be fair, the kids weren’t thrilled about wearing them and we were going to get as much use out of them as possible! Plus we waited nearly twenty years to get a pair!

Getting kissed by Mickey:

I think Amanda and I were a the most excited to see him:

This picture will forever be my favorite, my sister, nephew and I (the three in the front screaming):

On the way out, we realized that we have visited Disneyland every ten years. The first time we were there was around 1998, the second time was around 2008, and now 2018. We have to go back in 2028 now!

It was a great day, with lots of fun and excitement had by all -and a great way to end our California adventure!

Until next time!
