Im not committing to a 365 project, because if its anything like last year, I will just get to the end of the year and have LESS pictures than I would if I had just kept up with what I was doing – enjoying what I do. This year I don’t want to get better at photography. I want to be happy with what I can do. With my results. And if I improve, great. If not. Atleast I will have had fun doing what I enjoy, and not pushing myself to that place where I just want to throw my camera out the door because well, everyone can do so much better than I (not saying I still don’t think about this).
Looking back over the year, I seem to touch on the highlights of things. The highs and lows. The in-betweens get lost, and sometimes…the in-between are the best part. Like with a pb&j sandwich, without it, you would just have bread. I like looking back and remembering those silly moments, the things that are long forgotten at the end of the year. The moments that didn’t make the cut, or the Christmas news letter – THOSE are the things that I am trying hard to write this year.
Its been my motivation this week. Taking a picture of something that caught my attention. That in an ordinary day – was something that called my name. The pictures arent the best (Im no pro) and they arent edited this week. They are just how I saw them at the time. Its just how the week has been. A little crazy, kind of slow, with some candy tossed in to keep things sweet.

I. Um. Have a confession to make. I hate mornings. Ok, I take that back. I love staying up way too late, into the morning, like, oh, I don’t know….2 or 3 am. But I hate when the alarm goes off anywhere before 7am. And not just because I stay up way too late, or early. If you want to get technical. I just hate rolling out of my nice cozy bed to say hello to a day that is so unpredictable.
All that is to say – me and my morning grumpiness didn’t do so well on taking pictures. Ha. I did try tho. And earlier this week, when I HAD to be up before 7 (Im one to milk it to the last minute). I took a few pictures. Because it might as well have been worth my trouble, right?
I broke my favorite cup, so have been forced to use this money mug.

“Do you know how helpless you feel if you have a full cup of coffee in your hand and you start to sneeze?”
If there is life before coffee, I dont want to know about it!

And yes, its still dark until about 8 30 or 9 here. Yuck.
“There is no hope for a civilization which starts each day to the sound of an alarm clock.”

Lucky for me I am usually waken up to something like this a few minutes before the alarm. This was around 2 am and she had just gotten her second wind. She was going NUTS digging and trying to get under me. Then the alarm goes off, and she is either out of bed like toast, or growling at me for waking her up.

Shes big on morning hugs too. Have to have that morning hug or her day is ruined. Crazy dogs.
And just for kicks, and because it is SO me:

Good morning everyone!
I had a dream last night. A dream that there were sheep trying to get into my bed.
“Amanda!” I yelled. “SHEEP! They are getting in my bed. AGAIN!”
A sleepy voice replied. “Kick them. Kick them out. All of them!”
And so I did. I began kicking. Frantically. Kicking. Slowly the sheep started to fall off the bed.
All but one. One stubborn sheep hanging onto the edge of the bed. I kicked its nose. It just stared. “This sheep wont leave!” I yelled to Amanda. But there was no reply.
And there were no sheep.
It was Yoshi.
Looking frantic. Wondering why I was yelling, and kicking her in the nose.
Poor dog.
Poor sheep.
