I was all set and ready to take pictures this Saturday when we “Went Fishing.”  I had it all planned out in my mind for “What I did” this week, complete with smiling faces, big fish, and a boat that actually took us out on the water.  It was a beautiful afternoon.  But we didn’t go fishing.  Because the boat (still doesn’t) run.  Onto plan B it was.  Instead, mom and I took the dogs for a walk around the lake.  It went much better than Yoshi’s first “walk” around the lake.  I didn’t even need a spare change of clothes!!!

Before we left I took some pictures of the latest flower.  I kind of love this bright pink color!

Poor Yoshi, being FORCED to go for a walk around the lake on such a beautiful day.

See?  Lake.

This is what happens when you try to take a picture, with a dog leash in your hand – and forbid, a person walks by.

Some of us did some swimming.

Some of us just made a fool of ourselves by staring up and trying not to walk into trees.

Perfect way to spend the day…

Thanks mom 🙂

Happy 6/6/12!

Christina and I are always on the lookout for days to celebrate. Yesterday Chir told me that a reason to celebrate was that the date was 6-6-2012. I didn’t get it at first, but Christina told me it was simple 6 + 6 = 12. The “6-6-12” holiday seems like a good day to me. Doesn’t it sound like cause for celebration? 6 + 6 = 12! So, in commemoration of this day, I’ve decided to write a blog post.

Seeing the date of the 6th reminds me of my birthday coming up. I’m a bit sad, because I feel like I’m getting old. I wish I could just grab onto moments sometimes and never let them go…I don’t want it to be tomorrow, I just want it to be today. I don’t want another birthday!

“Never dread getting old, it’s a privilege denied to many.”

I will be thankful. I suppose God didn’t give us unlimited tomorrows here on earth…but he did give us today! When I think about it, it makes me appreciate each day even more.

A reminder to myself, not to worry about tomorrow!

So, happy 6/6/12!   Here are some snaps of the coast. I never get to see the ocean much anymore, and miss it, but we went to the ocean the other day, and had fun.

Now that summer is here, I have been looking for some quick and easy meals, that are also healthy and filling.  This is a combination of recipes I found and combined.  You can edit the spices to your liking.

  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup romano cheese, grated
  • 1/2 cup chives, chopped
  • 2 cups fresh spinach, chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups smoked salmon, shredded
  • Spinach tortillas
  • 2 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon oregano
  • 1 tablespoon ground chili (2 tablespoons if chili powder)
  • 1 tablespoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt

– Yield 5 wraps

Mix all ingredients in medium bowl, mix well.  Spread evenly over a majority of the tortilla shell.  Fold the ends in (as if for a burrito), and roll together tightly, starting at the edge and rolling in.

I was originally planning on doing “Seven days” of sky here, but then a majority of them were like this and I sort of gave up on that idea.

(two different days, I promise)

Then I decided to look for the “Blue sky” moments in the day

(When they say dont look directly at the sun, Im guessing they mean not through the camera either.)

I felt like I owed an explanation for this one.  The moon, has always taunted me.  Whenever I see a full moon, or a bigger than usual moon I want to run out and get a picture, of course, it only leads to me being frustrated and mad.  Last night was an awesome moon here, and when I was heading to bed I realized it was lighter outside than normal – thanks to the moon.  I decided to peek out the window upstairs and get a picture (after a few attempts at flashing the neighbors) I ended up with this shot.

See it there?  See the moon?  🙂

This is what today looks like.  Awesomeness in the sky!

Once again, heres to a better week behind the camera!
