So there I was, Sunday afternoon, innocently snapping some pictures of the much promised candy from yesterday.

When these candies practically ganged up on me.  “We want to go outside” they yelled.  “Natural light” another said.

And having never been one to argue with a piece of candy, especially a peanut butter cup – I took a few outside to play.

Luckily I had Slim to help me keep the little rascals in line!

She taught them how to play “Hide and seek.”  They did the hiding – she did the seeking.

“We want to see the ocean!” the cried, and climbed on top of each other to get to the top.  Team work at its finest.

One by one they made their way to the top.

And then we went home.

Or, atleast, Slim and I went home!

And no, I never did get a life after my last two photo shoots with, erm, candy!

What can I say, it is very rewarding!

Have you ever, on a Saturday afternoon, randomly hopped up and rode your bike 6 miles into town to get some candy to photograph?

Yea.

Me either.

Ok, so I did.  I admit it.  I did.  After debating on it all afternoon, I decided to just go for it, grabbed my debit card, and camera and rode off to town.  Nearly giving myself a heart attack when crossing the streets.

I only told myself a few hundred times to stop TALKING to  myself.

Oh, and also for your mental viewing pleasure try this on for size: I was riding, minding my own business – when I saw a man coming towards me on the sidewalk, I decided to go off the curb and ride on the road to pass him.  He waved, I waved, and then went to go back on the curb.  But I hit it wrong, read, sideways – and literally went SPLAT all over the sidewalk.

My first thought, sadly, was “That could have been embarrassing.”

Pictures to follow.

Ive spent a lot of time down at the water lately.  Not looking for anything in particular – just looking.

I take the dog, and thats my excuse.  She needs a walk, and while she loves a walk just as much as any other dog…its not my only reason.

I need something to take pictures of.  I had planned on riding my bike to town today – and just going snap happy.  But woke up to (among other things) rain.

Its the time of year that – whatever these things are – come out.  Thousands of them covered the rocks.  I called them baby shrimp, slim called them the latest in dog perfume.

I can never resist a good challenge – like trying to get a good photo of these guys, in the water.  Slim was taking in as much of the water as she could – literally.

One “Crabby” little dude.

And just before we left, I set the camera up on self timer – and had some fun.  Slim wasnt sure what I was up to at first – but was very interested in the beeping noise the camera was making.  Out of the six or seven pictures I got of us – I like this one the best.

Ive got other things I need to be writing, but every time I go to write something else I think of a hundred and one things I would RATHER be doing/writing…

Like this!

On our way down to Mexico, we spent the first two days in California…while we were there, we went to Sea World.

I only had little HP since we were going to Mexico and I didn’t want to bring Nik there.  I was actually kind of surprised at the quality of the pictures, they turned out better than I expected!

There were the usual stingrays, seals, polar bears, whales, penguins and birds.

There was also the seagulls who werent part of anything, but showed up to steal food – and they were good at it too!  There was a dolphin petting part also, but everyone was fighting to get there, and as soon as you got close enough they would soak you with one splash, so I didnt get any pictures!

I think the “Shamu show” was my highlight.  I didnt really pay too much attention to what they were saying, but the things the whales did were pretty amazing.  And I had never been in a crowd THAT big before – so that was cool too.

To sum it up – the rides, and the shamu show were probably the best parts.

Ive had a bit of a time with the photo challenges these past few weeks, with my main subject being a gazillion and one miles away.  But I guess thats the purpose of challenges, to challenge.  So I wont complain TOO much.

There was a lot of fun this week, but it was kind of difficult to capture because there really wasnt anything TO capture.  Just me trying to sneak in random bits of fun.

I had a lot of fun getting reacquainted with Nik this week.

What can I say, we love us some flowers, and the flowers remind us that Spring is COMING and Spring is FUN!

I had fun sneaking up on these guys – who were – less than impressed with me.  Were talking about getting some baby chicks again this year.  Well, actually, I take that back – as soon as I get my rear into gear, we are going to be getting some baby chicks.  Thats always fun!  The chicks that is, not getting my rear in gear!

And I had fun walking this girl down to see this view

Which, you know, is always fun!

And thanks to my lovely and very creative sister – I have a brand new header – which I am in LOVE with – and you know, is ALSO fun!  So thanks Amanda!!!
