After pretty much two weeks of not participating, I pretty much forced myself out this week in order to get some pictures.  Lately it just seems like time has been getting away from me, in a bad sort of way.  In that one day it’s the beginning of the week – and the next the week is over and I havent accomplished one single thing.  Just madness of spinning in circles gaining no ground.  We had one day of no rain this week, and I forced myself out to get some pictures of this tree I have been eying.  We don’t get a lot of fall colors around here – mostly brown and yellow – so this red bush had really gotten my attention.

This is pretty much the color palette here until next Spring.

Pretty in its own way, but somewhat dreary too…

Some reason the red just screams fall to me.

This little blueberry tree was living beside the bush, and had the same fall like color.

In the search for fall colors I was pleasantly surprised to see this little flower still holding out.

I shared this earlier but I cant help but post it again.  On our way back from town I was complaining (in my mind) about the lack of color in fall.  I was mentally writing this post when I had finally settled on the words “The problem with fall is that it doesnt have the bright colors I love.  It is brown, dead and boring.”  And literally seconds later this rainbow appeared.

It stayed long enough for us to drive home, get Nik, and drive back to the water.  Probably less than five minutes, but it never lost its vibrant bold colors.

Between Amanda and I we have decided that this fall/winter season is NOT going to get the better of us – and that instead of dreading it, we are going to make the best of it.  Meaning that we have attempted to make a list of things we want to accomplish this year / something to do everyday.  One of the things on my list was to decorate the office for fall…

The pictures didnt turn out that great, but I was pretty happy with the results.  Another thing I had wanted to do this week was make these candy corn cookies.  Maybe this week?

Well, the lucky thing is that you can make the most mundane colors turn into beautiful pictures. And your reds that make such a strong fall statement were gorgeous. But that rainbow? That is spectacular! I’m so glad you participated this week! Great post.
