(If your wondering, were probably still in Oregon, doing who knows what – canning, or picking fruit, who knows! Or maybe we decided to take a drive to find WILD apples!)
{Day 28}
Two things to pick apart here.
Who am
I
To question…
God.
The first verse in the Bible should give God some sort of personal impact:
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1:1
Heavens AND earth. Created
But not only that…
Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, or with the breadth of his hand marked off the heavens? Who has held the dust of the earth in a basket, or weighed the mountains on the scales and the hills in a balance? Isaiah 40:12
Lift your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one, and calls them each by name. Because of his great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing. Isaiah 40:26
All those stars? The oceans? Mountains? The sand? He made it. He HOLDS it. He holds all of those stars, and not one of them are missing…Just because we cant see them all, and count them, and account FOR them…doesn’t mean they arent there. Yet at the same time?
Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father. Matthew 10:29
At the same time He is holding the stars in place, He knows about the sparrows…
So where do we fit in in all this?
Humans.
The Bible tells us:
The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? Jeremiah 17:9
For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander Matthew 15:19
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, Romans 3:23
Some reason I think that from my spot here on this little blue dot, that God holds in His hands…that I can somehow see the whole picture. That I know something that no one else does, or perhaps, have some sort of insight into what God should be doing. Or perhaps, have some sort of knowledge that could benefit His decisions. His will.
Who am I;…a deceitful , evil, sinner….to QUESTION God; who created, and holds the oceans, mountains, birds and myself in His hand…
Who am I to question God?
Who am I to ask Him if He knows what He is doing, or does He see what is happening. When He is the very one holding this earth in existence.
Who am I.
Or better yet.
Who do I think I am.
